Qualifications/attributes

You cannot practice as a dentist in the UK unless you are registered with the General Dental Council. They currently have just over 30,000 dentists registered with them. It is imperative that you contact them before you leave home to see what criteria you need to meet to be registered. These include the obvious ones such as having a recognised university dental qualification as well as the not so obvious ones like having your doctor complete the medical fitness part of your application form.
